Aberdeen-based Asset Information Services (AIS)* is delighted to announce it has won the Inspiration from Innovation award at the prestigious 2018 Northern Star Business Awards.
Nominated for its, now multi-award winning, R2S software and continuous innovation in and commitment to visualisation and digitalisation, AIS has had a particularly busy year, rolling out the latest version of its software and introducing R2S AR, an augmented reality application designed to digitally enable the on-site workforce.
Perhaps best known for its pioneering digital survey work and visualisation of offshore assets, the latest generation of R2S, R2S Mosaic, is a true facilitator of data democracy, and goes beyond its photogrammetric origins - providing an intuitive visual interface that is a gateway to the powerful software; unlimited levels of data, with cross functionality with third party systems.
AIS' managing director, Bob Donnelly commented that:
“To be nominated and win under this category is particularly exciting for us. We’ve been working with our clients in the digitalisation of oil and gas for over a decade, and to be recognised as leaders in this space today shows that our knowledge and experience have established strong foundations for the cutting-edge solutions we develop and deliver.
Innovation within AIS is not limited to our technological developments, we are embracing innovation in the way we do business too. From absorbing and processing data from other sources for example, third party photogrammetric and laser scan data, to welcoming visual data taken by our clients, supported by the provision of an equipment kit, R2S Self-Capture.
This award is a fabulous recognition of our remarkable team. Watch this space there is so much more to come.”
Innovation and R&D are central tenets of AIS which maintains a continuous R&D programme. The team is working on new and exciting developments and is about to embark on its biggest R&D project to date.
AIS is also transferring its innovation, developed for oil and gas, into other industries.
